Fee: Applying candidates should pay application fee of Rs.100/- by way of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp obtained from post offices across the country - which should be cancelled at the obtaining post office clearly the date stamp at issuing post office. Online applicants can either use SBI challan downloaded from SSC website to deposit the fee or make online payment using e-payment mode.


SC/ST, Women candidates and Ex-Servicemen are exempted from making the fee payment.

UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2014 Notification for 582 Posts Release Delayed to March 22

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited notification for Engineering Services Examination 2014 that was earlier to be released by March 15, 2014 will now be released on March 22, 2014. The date of the examination remains the same: June 20, 2014.

The Engineering Services Examination 2013 notification was released on April 6, 2013. UPSC conducts the Engineering Services examination for recruitment of qualified engineers to different cadres under the Indian government. Engineers are generally recruited across four categories:

1. Civil Engineering
2. Mechanical Engineering
3. Electrical Engineering
4. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering


Services engineers are recruited for under the UPSC Engineering Services Exam include: Indian Railway Service, Central Engineering Service, Indian De-fence Service, Indian Ordnance Factory Service, Border Roads Engineering Service, Central Power Engineering Service and Indian Naval Armament Service among others.

To be eligible for the Engineering Services Examination, candidate should have obtained a degree in Engineering (in the relative field) from a University recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC). The test consists of objective and conventional papers depending on the stream applied for.  Each category, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering will contain three objective papers of two hours each and two conventional type papers of three hours each.
